From 8/1/10 San Jose Mercury News... A new report by Nielsen Online concludes that nearly a third of Americans' online time is spent on social networks and games that they host. The study, covering 200,000 Internet users for the year ending in June, found that social network use grew by 43 percent, while time spent on portal sites, e-mail and instant messaging declined.
