Digital Set Top Box – Q/A Testing - performed testing of new O/S releases for digital set top converter boxes prior to deployment into production for cable television subscribers. This included testing manufacturer firmware and microcode changes and it’s impact on signal processing, video-on-demand, digital video recordings, remote controllers, interactive games, etc.
Interactive Television Commerce – Applications Architecture - created a t-Commerce, television-based architecture to support interactive sales transactions in a B2C environment. Project One provided expertise in n-tier web services architecture along with payment technologies experience to develop a common interface platform that provided the building blocks for constructing end-to-end applications for advertising, selling and payment collections for consumer products and services.
Mobile/Wireless Video Streaming - Q/A Testing - worked closely with product management, engineering and development staffs to create test plans & scripts for launch of a new product integrating video and live television streams for mobile devices, ie: iPads, iPhones, Droids, Blackberry, etc. This allows subscribers to watch their favorite programs as well as have remote set top box control using WiFi technology.
Telecommunications Billing – Billing Analysis - supplied a Telecom Billing Analyst to perform analysis, verification and metrics reporting of all voice & data telecom vendors including carrier billing, validation of interconnecting trunking inventories, circuits, surcharges, least cost routing algorithms, traffic & usage trends, etc. Downloaded external databases into spreadsheets for performing statistical analysis, management reports and producing charts & graphs.
Caller ID on TV – Software Engineering - implemented a Caller-ID on TV feature that provides home television viewers the convenience of knowing who is calling by displaying the caller’s phone number and name on the television screen. Project One supplied Java/J2EE/Oracle web services programming staff to assist in the design & development of this feature which was rolled out to 1+ million customers.
Customer Care & Billing – Business Analysis – provided Cabledata, DST Innovis/Amdocs applications expertise for integration with Oracle Financials. Responsibilities included requirements gathering, process & workflow re-engineering, development of functional specifications, user acceptance criteria and liaison with business users and technical staff.
Operational Support – UNIX Systems Administration – to assist our client with the rollout of new services resulting in increased service demand, Project One provided additional Sun/Unix, Weblogic, Apache Tomcat systems administration production support to help balance the workload of existing staff and resolve open issues more quickly.
Provisioning Systems – UX/UI Analysis - created a new user interface to front-end internal provisioning systems that enabled call center/customer services representatives to more efficiently handle service calls, setups, changes & terminations for broadband, digital television and VoIP subscribers. This new interface also combines separate customer information from distributed systems into a single, comprehensive screen.
